In the heart of La Ciotat, Prastel, manufacturer of electronic systems for automation and access control, embodies the entrepreneurial spirit, passion and dedication to offer quality solutions to its customers.
Discover the moving story of this family business that has been able to reinvent itself and grow thanks to the commitment of its managers and its close-knit team.
Prastel’s background
Founded in 1988, Prastel France was originally a subsidiary of an Italian company based in Bologna. The company dealt exclusively with the French, Belgian and Swiss markets. Initially located in Paris, the subsidiary decided to move closer to its “mother” and moved to La Ciotat, in the south of France. In 2010, the parent company went bankrupt, and it was then that the head of the subsidiary, Mr. Amouroux, decided to buy the brand and the business. Thus, Prastel begins a new chapter by taking over all R&D development, purchasing and sales in France and abroad from its premises in La Ciotat.
The president, Mr Amouroux, an electronics engineer by training, worked for companies such as TRW and ST Microelectronics, before creating the DITEC brand, which was later sold to ASSA ABLOY. Passionate about electronics, he decided to embark on the Prastel adventure. A true Swiss Army knife, he excels in both technical and commercial areas.
In 2014, Vanessa Chevassu joined Prastel. With a background in sales, she began her career with a major importer of home furnishing products, JJA, as a key account manager. Managing a turnover of almost 40 million euros with customers such as Centrakor, Tati and Leclerc, she decided to leave the Paris region and join Prastel as an export salesperson. Little by little, her father involved her in the management of the company, and today, Mr Amouroux and Ms Chevassu take joint decisions on the strategy and management of Prastel.
